New website for NGO that tries to get more people to become teachers
How can we help people—who already have a different career—to find a way to start teaching, given their very different education and experience, so that they know how and what they can legally teach?
During the covid-19 pandemic, I, along with numerous expert friends, joined forces to support the Česko.Digital NGO. I assumed the role of Product Design Leader for the project aimed at aspiring career changers transitioning to teaching, named Začni učit! (Czech for Start Teaching!, previously known as Výluka).
During the intensive project setup, we strategically planned mixed methods research encompassing qualitative, quantitative, and domain expert insights. Following the initial research and design phase, I played a crucial role in supervising a small team of designers. Collaborating with other pro–bono contributors, we established efficient development workflows and streamlined communication between design, business, and development.
Leading my compact design team, we continuously iterated on sections of the new web app. After each insight gained and synthesized from research, we collaboratively determined necessary changes and identified areas for further investigation. In later stages, we conducted both moderated and unmoderated usability testing of the solution. Simultaneously, we played a pivotal role in assisting the team with presenting and prioritizing upcoming developments for the web app.
We facilitated the team's adoption of remote–first tools such as Miro and Figma, guiding them in planning and conducting segments of the research. All of us managed these responsibilities alongside our regular full–time jobs.
